Step 4: GIVE
Then the Samaritan got to work.
He washed the man's wounds with oil and wine - the medicine of his day.
He wrapped them in bandages, probably torn from his own clothes.
He lifted the man onto his own donkey - which meant the Samaritan now had to walk the long road himself.
He took the man to an inn and stayed there to look after him.
Did you know? An inn was like a hotel where travellers stayed. Staying at one was expensive.
The Samaritan GAVE: his oil, his wine, his clothes, his donkey, his time, his money, his comfort.
Lesson: Real love costs something.
๐ "He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him." (Luke 10:34)
